The Information Technology 100
French giant Atos Origin has been tearing up the track. Not only did it run the Athens Olympics in 2004, but it also was selected to manage the info-tech systems for the Turin Winter Games in 2006, the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the Vancouver Winter Games in 2010, and the 2012 summer Olympics. Atos Origin's sales rocketed 75% to $6.5 billion in 2004, largely due to its acquisition of tech consultancy Sema Group from Schlumberger. Much credit also goes to strong management from Chairman and CEO Bernard Bourigeaud, who has kept Atos on a winning streak. Today, the company is one of the largest tech-services outfits in Europe.
