Says its Board will review and consider this proposal in due course. Separately, company posts $0.01 vs. $0.15 fourth quarter EPS on 3.8% lower same-store sales. S&P maintains hold. Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP) says it is pacing its capital investments to match needs of its customers which will result in a significant reduction in its 2009 capital spending when compared with previous years. Expects capital investment to be in the range of $800-$820 million.
Computer Sciences (CSC) posts $2.95, vs. $0.43, second quarter EPS on 5.5% revenue rise, tax-related benefit of $371.4 million, or about $2.43 per share, due to successful IRS tax resolution. Sees third quarter revenue of $4.1-$4.2 billion and EPS of $1.00-$1.10. third quarter guidance reportedly below Street view. Says Michael Mancuso will become CFO on Dec. 1.
Fortress Investment Group LLC (FIG) posts $0.66 third quarter loss, vs. $0.52 loss, on 25% revenue drop.
Dr. Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) posts $0.45, vs. $0.63, third quarter EPS (excluding costs) on 2% net sales decline. Says further reductions in consumer spending given a more challenging macro economic environment are impacting near- and medium-term forecast visibility; sees 2008 net sales growth of about 1%, $1.83-$1.86 EPS (excluding certain items).
Crocs (CROX) posts $1.79 third quarter loss, vs. $0.66 EPS, on 32% revenue decline, $104 million in chrges. Gross profit for third quarter 2008 was $2.4 million, or 1.4% of revenues, compared to $155.4 million, or 60.6% of revenues, for third quarter 2007. Plans to close a Brazil manufacturing plant in fourth quarter and cut capital expenditures in half next year. Sees fourth quarter loss of $0.50-$0.65 on revenue of $100-$120 million.
