Kerr-McGee Agrees to Acquire Westport Resources
Morgan Stanley acquires Barra, J.C. Penney sells Eckerd, and more deal news

Kerr-McGee (KMG ) agreed to acquire Westport Resources (WRC ) in a $3.4 billion deal. Terms: 0.71 KMG share for each WRC share. (4/7)


Lockheed Martin (LMT ) amended its merger agreement with Titan Corp. (TTN ). Titan shareholders will receive $20 in cash for each share held. If the merger is not completed by June 25, either Lockheed or Titan may terminate the agreement. (4/7)

MeriStar Hospitality (MHX ) agrees to acquire Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City for $93 million. (4/7)

Barra Inc. (BARZ ) agreed to be acquired by Morgan Stanley (MWD ) for $41 per share in cash, or about $816.4 million. (4/6)

Minuteman International (MMAN ) says shareholder Hako-Werke International GmbH offered to buy the remainder of the company at $12.85 per share. (4/6)

Attentus Healthcare ups $4 per share bid for SunLink Health Systems (SSY ) to $5. (4/6)

J.C. Penney (JCP ) says it has sold its Eckerd drugstores in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states for $2.375 billion to the Jean Coutu Group. CVS (CVS ) will to acquire the Eckerd drugstores in the South and Eckerd's pharmacy benefits management and mail order business for $2.15 billion. (4/5)

WellChoice (WC ) is negotiating to buy Oxford Health Plans (OHP ) in an all stock deal, according to the Wall Street Journal. (4/5)

First Niagra Financial Group (FNFG ) agrees to buy Hudson River Bancorp (HRBT ) for $19.63 in stock or cash or a combination of both per HRBT share. (4/2)

Wesbanco (WSBC ) agrees to buy Western Ohio Financial Corp. (WOFC ). Tems: 1.18 WSBC share, or $35 per WOFC share. (4/2)

IAMgold Corp. (IAG ) agrees to merge with Wheaton River Minerals (WHT ). Each WHT share will be swapped for 0.55 IAG share, with IAG holders ending up with 32% of the combined company (3/31)

Circuit City Stores (CC ) agrees to buy Intertan (ITN ) for $14 per share. (3/31)

Maxwell Shoe (MAXS ) urges shareholders to reject the $20 per share unsolicited bid from Jones Apparel Group (JNY ). (3/30)
