Corporate Giving's signature program is Freddie Mac's Hoops for the Homeless--a three-on-three basketball tournament that raises funds to alleviate homelessness among families in the Washington, D.C. region. The Freddie Mac Foundation has two signature programs--Wednesday's Child, a televised adoption program running in five key markets that helps foster children find permanent, loving homes, and J.C. Nalle Community School. Since 1992, the Foundation has invested over $3 million to help transform J.C. Nalle Elementary School in southeast D.C. into a full-service community school offering a range of services that children and families need.

Major Objectives
By financing homes, Freddie Mac improves the quality of life for families and their children. At the same time, we want these homes to be healthy homes in strong communities for families and children. That's where the work of Freddie Mac's extensive philanthropic program comes in. As one of the largest corporate funders in metropolitan Washington, D.C., Freddie Mac has invested nearly $250 million over the past 14 years to strengthen families and communities through our corporate giving program and the Freddie Mac Foundation. Freddie Mac's corporate giving program supports housing, partnerships, and civic programs that strengthen the communities where we live and work. Much of the company's giving supports initiatives designed to accelerate growth in homeownership among low-income and minority families. The Freddie Mac Foundation works to open doors to hope and opportunity for children and their families. The Foundation supports programs that prevent child abuse and neglect, find homes for foster children, and develop youth. To date, the Foundation has bettered the lives of more than 1.5 million children.
