 Major Objectives

Our major objective for corporate giving is to strengthen communities worldwide in the locations where we have a significant employee presence which includes Aizu-Wakamatsu, Japan; Austin, Texas; Bangkok, Thailand; Dresden, Germany; Penang-Kuala Lampur, Malaysia; Singapore and Suzhou, China. Our vision is global, but we focus our dollars on the specific communities where we do business because, as stakeholders in those communities, we believe it is our responsibility as a corporation to partner with our communities in addressing issues such as education and basic needs at the local level. We also allocate resources for emerging markets such as India, China and Latin America. We primarily focus on education because we believe that by nurturing the mind and supporting education, you instill self-sufficiency in individuals and help them prosper on a long-term basis. At the same time, we cannot ignore the short-term basic needs of the vulnerable in our communities who need food, shelter and basic health care. Nor can we ignore those who are impacted by natural disasters, such as the 2004 Tsunami. We support education and basic needs through AMD microprocessor-based computer donations, financial contributions and employee volunteers.
