I am not a motivated shopper by nature, but I plan to get up early on Sunday morning to be there when the doors of my local Kohl’s open. That’s when Vera Wang’s new Simply Vera collection goes on sale. Today Wang is best known today for her bridal dresses, but she broke out of the ranks designing skater Nancy Kerrigan’s 1994 Olympic costume. Although the line she is rolling out is considered cheap chic, Vera Wang is known as a stickler for details, so I’m certain it won’t fall apart after one washing.
But enough about me…will Wang’s (presumed) success be enough to give Kohl’s a whole new look? The stock has been lagging this year, and same-store sales recently dipped. I, for one, expect great things.
