Design, The Movie

Posted by: Matt Vella on January 05

The trailer for Objectified, an independent documentary about industrial design, is finally available (watch below). The film, which should be released this year, explores the relationships between consumers, mass products, and their designers. Gary Hustwit, who was behind the 2007 sleeper hit Helvetica — an earnest and surprisingly moving documentary about graphic design and typography, directed the movie. In his new film, Hustwit interviews the likes of Marc Newsom, Jonathan Ive, and Karim Rashid. It is no stretch to say design aficionados everywhere are looking forward to the movie’s release — us included.

(For the uninitiated, Helvetica is premiering on PBS in the US this January; check your listings for more.)
