Plenty of folks at ICFF were looking for distribution deals. This caught my eye: a Lego-inspired candle set from former RCA student, Hyock Kwon. If you look carefully, you can see the candle’s wick sticking out of the top — it threads through the individual blocks so you can create taller or shorter, multicolored towers. Hyock didn’t seem sure what Lego might have to say about his idea (he calls the project ‘Bloc’). And he also didn’t really know what to say to the guy who came up while we were chatting to shout, “You want my kids to burn my house down?!” But the idea seemed to resonate with attendees, and Hyock seemed optimistic he’d get a deal.
