Summer’s here, and though it’s super sweltery in New York, and my family is reporting being nearly under water in the north of England, thoughts are turning to being outside. People mag just launched its fancy new digital summer issue, and it’s worth looking at — for the design, more than for the opportunity to see John Travolta in a dress. British magazines have been translating the print format to online for a while now (Creative Review produces E-CR, a digital version of its monthly print edition, with film, links, etc embedded). But this is a big deal from a big publication and it’s nicely done.
What comes next? The BusinessWeek Innovation and Design team of Michael Arndt, Jay Greene , Reena Jana, Damian Joseph, Jessie Scanlon, and Helen Walters chronicle new tools for creativity and collaboration, innovation case studies in both the corporate and social sectors, and the new ideas that have the power to change the way things have always been done.
