Book Excerpt from Change By Design by IDEO's Tim Brown

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on September 27, 2009

Here’s a wonderful piece on how design can improve health care from Tim Brown’s new book, Change By Design.

To those who argue that Design has no business influencing health, education or any other large social system, please read this excerpt. Not all designers want to do what I call BIG DESIGN. That’s just fine. Not all journalists can analyze and interpret economic policy. Both for those designers who do want to help shape policy and strategy, Design now has the tools and methodologies to do it.

Again, Tim will be at Parsons New School of Design in New York on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 6:00 p.m.
Parsons The New School for Design
560 Seventh Avenue (at 40th Street)40th and 7th Avenue.

It’s a good chance to question him on Design Thinking. Just what the heck is it?
