Yahoo Design Innovation Team Fired.

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on February 15, 2008

Just saw the Portfolio.com confirms that the Yahoo Design Innovation team has been let go, as in fired, to save money.

I haven’t confirmed their confirmation, but if true, it’s a tragic shame. They’ve done good work.

Makes sense especially if Yahoo is sold to Microsoft!!! That will boost the creative innovation for sure…not

I wouldn't confuse this "design innovation" with the sort of "design thinking" you promote, Bruce. This seems more like information visualization--cool as it is, it's not the kind of people-research-based product innovation Yahoo needs right now.

One door closes and another opens... I've been so impressed with the work yHaus has been doing for the last few years and my firm is continually looking for anyone with that type of background - I'm sure the great talent there will land on their feet.

Does anyone know if they have outplacement services for the yHaus group? I am interested in seeing if they would be interested in openings within Respironics.
