IN5 Goes Beyond Second Life to Other Virtual Worlds.

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on May 31, 2007

While Second Life gets all the hype, a growing number of companies are bypassing it—and some are even leaving—for other virtual worlds that may be better. Reena Jana and Aili McConon did a wonderful job explaining how companies seeking better control and easier access to their own virtual worlds are turning to a group of designers to make their own.

Don’t forget to check out the incredible slide show of other virtual worlds and get a taste of what’s out there. Amazing stuff.

Not only do I believe that article is poorly researched, I'd say it misses the point of using Second Life for the purposes of *innovation*.

Follow the trackback if you want see where I think the story gets the facts (plenty of them) all wrong. As to explaining the point, read my other entries on companies like Nissan and Coke. (Here's a hint: "control" is increasingly an illusion).
