Going to the Printer with IN-Inside Innovation.

Posted by: Bruce Nussbaum on May 26, 2006

It’s close to finished and I’m looking at the pages on the wall and it is simply breathtaking—our baby is about to go out into the world and we just love INside Innovation! At the very last minute, Modernista pushed us to go just one mile further on the cover and Bruce Crocker was so right. It’s even better now.

So Steve Adler, editor-in-chief (actually, I just call him brand manager of the BW brand) came by and smiled and said “an incredibly short cycle time” for a project like this (he gushed about the cover too—wait until you see it). I answered, “not only that but open-sourcing the design and bringing in fresh eyes gave us entirely new ways of presenting information. And it really lowered the cost.” He smiled again.

IN is the best thing since VIBE. In fact, IN is the VIBE of the new managerial class of innovators.

Bruce,

I've been follwing your posts on INside Innovation. It's awesome to see you so excited about this. Sounds like you were a part of the creative process every step of the way. No wonder why you are so giddy.

Best of luck. Looking forward to it.

"Innovation is the New Black!"

A new innovation management book --- "What Customers Want" --- and methodology is quickly becoming the new "corporate mandate du jour."

Well, the "code has been cracked" and innovation guru and author Tony Ulwick is sharing his insights and methodology at the "Models for Innovation" conference at 8:30 am on Friday, June 9 at Columbia Business School.

Ulwick's presentation will address "Creating New Products and Services That Work,” and CMOs and C-suite executives from leading companies will be in attendance. [The conference will be held on the campus of Columbia University in Altchul Auditorium, room 417, School of International and Public Affairs at 420 West 118th Street.]

If you're interested in attending Ulwick's "Models for Innovation" presentation and then meeting with Tony Ulwick, CEO of Strategyn (www.strategyn.com) and award-winning author of "What Customers Want" after his presentation please call 480.505.4526.

Strategyn’s methodology has been adopted by leading companies such as Microsoft, Washington Mutual, AIG, Intuit and several other leading companies. Furthermore, the Strategyn innovation model was voted one of the best business ideas by the Harvard Business Review, and has supplanted Quality Function Deployment (QFD, www.qfdi.org) and voice-of-the-customer (VOC, www.isixsigma.com) programs in many firms as a best practice and new standard for innovation.
