First Arianna. Then Tina. Now MSNBC’s Carlos Watson

Posted by: Jon Fine on May 12

Arianna Huffington and her Post. Tina Brown and her Daily Beast. Add The Stimulist, which went live today, to the, ah, list of Web news and commentary sites founded by a figure first made famous by elder forms of media.

Carlos Watson, MSNBC daytime anchor and weekend host on Air America (his co-host on the radio network is one A. Huffington), is the CEO and backer of the site.

I wrote a story on Watson and his new launch for businessweek.com over the weekend. It can be found here.

Fine,

Newspapers dying? What about local tv news? Ever use a Blackberry? You get news 24/7.

Radio? Check Clear Channel. Down 25% first quarter after losing $3 billion in 2008.

Cable? People are beginning to figure out they don't need to pay $90 a month to Comcast to access shows online.

Yellow Pages? Ha ha!!!!

You aren't much of a media analyst if you focus only on newspapers.....start doing your job.

The media, entertainment and marketing worlds continue to shapeshift on a near-daily basis, as new forms arise and old assumptions erode. Where is it all going? No one really knows. But on this blog BusinessWeek’s media writers Tom Lowry and Ron Grover promise to provide ample helpings of scoop, provocation, and sharp analysis as they track and annotate this constantly changing terrain.
