Forbes.com’s James Brady, regarding the prospect of Cablevision’s James Dolan’s interest in Newsday:

Dolan? Forget it: The newspaper biz doesn’t need another amateur.

Right. Because the professionals are doing such a great job.

Didn't the movie Broadcast News basically address the idea that TV news people were "real" news people in 1987? I thought this issue was firmly addressed when Ted Turner created CNN around 1980.
