Sopranos Product Placement Watch: Season Six, Episode Twelve

Posted by: Jon Fine on June 06

The product garnering the most loving, deep-focus onscreen time (if not mentions per se) this episode was heroin.

But the Product Placement Watch sticks to widely commercially available, legal products, so the slim pickings in this sorta-season-ender look a little like this:

Jamba Juice. Mentioned in passing as Tony finalizes real estate deal with onetime potential goomar (and onetime junkie) Julianna.

Egregiousness: 3. This reference was nothing like the ones before, in which they cast a long shadow across the whole episode.

Kroll Associates. Quiet, extremely heavy security-slash-gumshoe firm employs exec Carmella met, who can perhaps track down the mysteriously absent Adriana.
Egregiousness: 6. A tough call. This fascinates me because Kroll isn’t exactly known for massive marketing spending. But this was a repeat reference that was part of a plotline—one that looks likely to bleed into next season—and, really, how weird is it for the wife of a Mafia don to hire a private eye?
