With Corporate America always hunting for ways to cut expenses, companies keep looking to trim costs where they can. The belt-tightening is fattening up Concur Technologies. The Redmond (Wash.) company helps corporate customers lower their travel and expense costs by streamlining processes as employees book travel or fill out travel and entertainment expense reports. Earnings for the fiscal second quarter ended Mar. 31 climbed 112%, to $2.7 million, minus share-based compensation and intangible amortization. Sales were $23.5 million, a 36% gain from a year earlier. That followed a doubling of profits in fiscal 2005, to $5.4 million, on revenue of $71.8 million. Founded in 1993 and run by two brothers, Chairman CEO Steven Singh and President and Chief Operating Officer Rajeev Singh, Concur is now pushing further into the corporate travel business, acquiring Outtask, a provider of travel booking tools and expense management applications.
