African Americans Move Online
Some 4.9 million African-American adults are online, more than any other U.S. minority group. While that figure represents 28% of the U.S. black population, it's a smaller share than the 37% of adult whites who are online, according to a survey by Cyber Dialogue. Nearly half of adult African Americans who go online are under age 30, and one-third have graduated from college. Blacks are more likely to buy music online than other minorities and less likely to purchase from travel and clothing sites, the survey found.
