End of an Era in Browsers
Market researcher Zona Research says that when it started monitoring Web browsers four years ago, nine companies were battling for a slice of the $200 million market. Today, Microsoft and Netscape dominate a market that has no direct dollar value because the software is given away. Here's how they stack up:

% of respondents in a survey of 236 companies:
Use Microsoft's Internet Explorer as the primary browser 64%
Use Netscape Navigator as the primary browser 36%
Have a corporate browser policy 73%
Specify Internet Explorer as the approved browser 69%
Specify Navigator as the approved browser 31%
