The Number of Latin Netizens Is Set to Explode
Latin Americans connected to the Internet are expected to more than quadruple in number over the next four years, to 37.6 million in 2003. Despite the dramatic growth, penetration will remain low, rising to only 6.8% of the region's population, according to researcher Jupiter Communications. As Latin America's largest market, Brazil leads the way, boasting both more Internet users and the highest penetration rate in the region.
