What I Did on My Winter Vacation
The final months of 1999 will be grueling for many information technology workers, chiefly those fighting the Y2K bug. Summer vacations have already been squeezed, and a new survey shows that winter vacations for IT workers are being eliminated or restricted almost universally. Of 150 companies surveyed, 43% say Y2K projects have changed this year's vacation policies.

Of those surveyed:
97% of companies will limit December and January vacations
80% of companies will also limit vacations well into the year 2000
40% of companies will offer no extra pay or rewards for extra work
