Yahoo!: An International Force

The proposed acquisition of Lycos by Spain's Terra Networks has focused new attention on Europe's Internet markets. In the major markets of Germany, France, and Britain, the Yahoo! portal is either first or second in drawing visitors to its site. Europeans don't spend as much time as Americans on the Web: an average of just over five hours a month as compared with 12 hours by U.S. surfers.
