Weddings Get Wired

Wedding season is upon us. For most brides, this used to be the time to hit the newsstands to pick up bridal magazines and to ask Mom for planning tips. The tide is turning. According to a study by Greenfield Online Inc., the Web has surpassed friends, family, and magazines as the primary source of wedding information. Of 963 respondents, 29% said they trust the Internet as their primary source, up from 23% last year. Friends and family are preferred by 25%, up only one percentage point from last year. Magazines took a big hit, dropping from 25% last year to 21% this year. The most popular sites are Modernbride.com, Theknot.com, and Weddingchannel.com.
