Web Training Explodes

U.S. corporations are increasingly turning to the Web to train their employees. While the $63 billion market for corporate training is growing at an Old Economy pace, Web-based training is expected to explode by more than 900% over the next four years. A key reason is that online training is far cheaper than bringing in a live instructor, let alone sending employees to an offsite training location. And productivity doesn't suffer as much when employees get their how-tos at their own computers.

U.S. market for Web-based corporate training:

North America $1.1 billion

1999 $2.2 billion

2001 $4.1 billion

2002 $7.1 billion

2003 $11.4 billion
