The Mobile Net Is Slow to Take Off

Interest in the wireless Internet is just beginning in the U.S., according to a survey that Peter D. Hart Research prepared for the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Assn. The survey, of 812 representative users, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5%, the researchers say.

Interest in having a wireless phone with data services:

44% very little interest

30% just some interest

12% quite a bit of interest

13% great deal of interest

1% not sure
