The New Economy Meets the Old World

In Europe, retail sales online will skyrocket nearly 100 percent yearly between 2000 and 2005. Market researcher Forrester Research predicts that retail sales via the Internet will hit $167.4 billion, up from $2.8 billion today. Still, online sales in 2005 will represent only 7% of total retail sales in Europe.
