Overtime eligibility for teachers varies by district--in many cases, TFA teachers are eligible if coaching a sports team, running after-school tutoring program, etc. In New York City, where 25% of total corps is stationed, the Dept. of Education pays approximately $35/hour for any classes taught over the required five periods a day.

Vacation and holidays are a function of academic calendar, which includes summers off , winter holiday, and spring break.
