BUSINESSWEEK ONLINE:   BW PLUS:   INFO TECH

By Joan O'C. Hamilton

Silicon Valley isn't so much a place as a culture, a dynamic collection of high-tech workers and thinkers and leaders who are inventing and reinventing the technology driving the digital revolution on an almost daily basis. Digital Dispatch explores aspects of digital culture that exist outside the usual business stories about new products and hot stocks.

We're interested in the ideas that make the Valley tick, the social implications of an increasingly wired world and the social drivers that are shaping the way we use technology. We aim for on-the-scene reports that try to bring to life otherwise esoteric concepts, interviews with provocative thinkers, and insights into the peculiarities of doing business in Silicon Valley that help explain its culture.

Digital Dispatch is written by Joan O'C. Hamilton, who has covered technology and written about digital culture for 16 years from the magazine's Silicon Valley bureau.
