Bill is a native Texan, born in Houston in 1929. He's a high school graduate who completed college courses while serving in the U.S. Navy. After 25 years of active service, Bill retired in 1972 with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

He began a second career shortly thereafter with E. F. Hutton & Co. Since 1985, he has been actively involved with the National Association of Investors Corp. (NAIC) in Madison Heights, Mich., a nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to fostering investment clubs and educating individual investors. Bill has served on the NAIC Computer Group Advisory Board since 1989 and held offices as secretary and president. He is currently an assistant director on the NAIC CG Advisory Board and presents seminars on stock-screening techniques at NAIC national events.

Bill and his wife, Rosemary, have two children and four grandchildren. Their pet cat is a Maine Coon male named BeBe (registered as Beauregard Bartholomew) who hates it when Bill has to work on his computer. Bill plays bridge and golf, and loves to fish with his brother, but not necessarily in that order. Computer investing takes quite a bit of his remaining time.
