Andrew N. Liveris has been President and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Co., a Holding of Dow Corning Corp. since November 1, 2004. Mr. Liveris served as President and Chief Operating Officer of The Dow Chemical Co. from November 11, 2003 to November 1, 2004. Mr. Liveris' 28-year Dow career has spanned manufacturing, sales, marketing, new business development and management. Mr. Liveris joined Dow Corning Corp. in 1976 in Melbourne, Australia, and held various production, project engineering, marketing and business leadership positions in Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and the U.S. He was named Dow's general manager for all operations in Thailand in 1989. He served in leadership positions for the Soap and Detergent Association and for the American Chemistry Council. He served as Business Group President, Performance Chemicals of Dow Chemical Co. since April 2000. He has been a Director of The Dow Chemical Co. since February 2004 and is a Member of Executive Committee. He has been a Director of Dow Corning Corp. since March 8, 2004. Mr. Liveris is a board member of the Midland Center for the Arts, the Lake Huron Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Midland advisory board of Comerica Bank and the Board of Trustees of the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation. Mr. Liveris is a board member and member of the Executive Committee of the OPTIMAL Group of Companies, a set of joint ventures in Malaysia that serve as Dow's first major integrated petrochemical facility in Asia. He is a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers - UK, and is a member of the executive committee of The Society of Chemical Industry. He also has served in leadership positions for the Soap and Detergent Association and for the American Chemistry Council. Mr. Liveris graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, and earned the University Gold Medal -- the university's highest honor.
