Lew Frankfort Lew Frankfort serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coach Inc. Mr. Frankfort served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coach since November 1995, prior to the split-off of Coach from the Sara Lee Corporation. Mr. Frankfort has successfully built Coach into the premier American accessories brand with sales of over $1 billion. It was because of Mr. Frankfort's vision and leadership that Coach emerged from being a cottage-industry manufacturer of leather goods, into a leading designer and marketer of fine accessories and gifts worldwide. Mr. Frankfort has been involved with Coach Inc. in excess of 20 years. Under Mr. Frankfort's stewardship, Coach has continued to build upon its strong customer franchise by broadening its product offerings, modernizing its stores, accelerating retail expansion, improving operational efficiency and expanding its international presence - all of which has contributed to improve sales, net income and earnings growth. In October, 1999, Mr. Frankfort brought Coach into the e-commerce arena with the launch of, providing an additional image-enhancing environment where Coach customers could shop. In addition, Mr. Frankfort oversaw Coach's transition to a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Frankfort served as the Senior Vice President of Sara Lee Corporation from January 1994 to October 2000. Mr. Frankfort was appointed the President and the Chief Executive Officer of Sara Lee Champion, Intimates & Accessories group in January 1994, and held this position through November 1995. From September 1991 through January 1994, Mr. Frankfort held the positions of the Executive Vice President, Sara Lee Personal Products and the Chief Executive Officer of Sara Lee Accessories. In addition to his responsibilities at Coach from 1991 to 1996, Mr. Frankfort served in several group officer positions in Sara Lee Corporation, including Champion U.S. and Europe business, as well as its Intimates & Accessories (North America) business. Mr. Frankfort was appointed the President of Coach in July 1985, after Sara Lee acquired Coach, and held this position through September 1991. Mr. Frankfort joined Coach in 1979 as the Vice President of New Business Development. He has been a Director of Coach Inc. since June 1, 2000, the date of its incorporation. Prior to joining Coach, Mr. Frankfort held various New York City government management positions and served as Commissioner, New York City Agency for Child Development and helped restore New York's Head Start and day care programs during the fiscal crisis of the mid-1970s. Mr. Frankfort holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hunter College and an MBA in Marketing from Columbia University.
