Cummins
Theodore M. Solso was elected Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Inc. (formerly Cummins Engine Company, Inc.) in January 2000. Mr. Solso served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Cummins Inc. from 1995 to 2000 and its Executive Vice President of Operations from 1992 through 1994. From 1988 to 1992, he was Vice President and General Manager of Engine Business after serving in various other executive positions in Cummins Inc. He served in various positions with Cummins Engine Company Inc. since 1971. Mr. Solso has been a Director of Ball Corp. since January 2003 and serves as its Member of Corporate Governance and Nominating Committees. Mr. Solso has been a Director of Ashland Inc. since 1999 and serves as its Member of Corporate Governance, Nominating and Compensation Committees and Chairman of Nominating Committee. Mr. Solso has been a Director of Cummins Inc. since 1994 and also serves as a Member and Chairman of Executive Committee. Mr. Solso has been a Director of Irwin Financial Corporation since 1993 and serves as its Member of Corporate Governance Committee. He is a Member of the Boards of Cummins Engine Foundation, Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County in Columbus, Indiana and Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees, DePauw University, a Member of the Indiana Academy, a Member of the Business Roundtable and the Business Council. Mr. Solso served as a Director of Cyprus Amax Minerals Co. since November 15, 1993. Mr. Solso received a B.A. from DePauw University in 1969 and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard University in 1971.
