I was a dual major with the communications school and found this program superior to the business school in terms of advising, classes, and hands-on experience.

The Whitman School of Management has created a small, tight community within Syracuse University. Professors make an effort to get to know most students on a personal basis and are always available to help. Above all, this school has prepared its students for the real world by strongly encouraging multiple internships -- I had three -- and networking events.

Overall, the experience has been disappointing. The caliber of the business school could be improved by implementing more challenging curriculum, hiring more competent teachers, and becoming more selective with its accepted students.

The presence of some lesser-focused peers sometimes detracted from the learning experience at Syracuse, particularly in terms of group work but also during class discussions.

The new management building is amazing. The technology and team rooms provide a real sense of a business community. Management students no longer go to the library, they go to the management building.
