The most beneficial part about my experience in the business school at Pitt, was pledging and being a memeber of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. It has helped me with job searches, interviewing skills, and networking. Also, as I was activities chair for a semester, it has helped me with my organizational and leadership skills, and has given me practice in event planning.

The two major downfalls to Pitt are cost and teaching. We certainly don't see the perks of being the second-most expensive public school in the country. They're building $150 million basketball arenas, when they should build parking lots and bring in real professors with that money. Pitt puts the best, award-winning professor with the freshman classes to hype up the school and aid retention.

This undergrad business school has a very large corporate presence -- what I mean by this is that the same, large corporate companies recruit every year. I feel as though there is too much attention on just the few larger firms in downtown Pittsburgh. There should be more of an effort in having recruiters/mentors/speakers from all different walks of business.

We have an Office of Leadership Development that is really wonderful. They are always holding events that help students learn to do things like write resumes, network with professionals, etc. They also organize on-campus interviews, and they were very helpful to me when I was searching for an internship.

The people here really want you to succeed and genuinely care about you. I came in to college shy, and fairly reserved, and now I'm more of a stand-out student in the school, thanks to the people here who helped me get involved and develop my leadership skills.
