The business school has prepared me very well for the future. This past year, marketing students visited the headquarters for Sesame Workshop (producers for Sesame Street) and a top-notch, full-service advertising and PR firm. The finance students visited Bloomingdales and Shenkman Capital Management, a hedge fund firm that manages over millions of dollars. I think the business school has been successful with linking undergraduate students with the real world.

Being in the heart of D.C. allows for numerous internship opportunities to integrate the learning experience with real-life work experience.

Aside from recruiting, which I felt lacked the presence of the larger financial houses from New York, the school has done very well to prepare me for the work force.

People from the career center come to classes and tell you about their services, but I think that there should be some type of requirement that you must go see them at least twice during your junior and senior year. This way you become aware of the various careers and opportunities.

Each student should need to make a personal plan -- goals that would like to be achieved before graduation, companies/places they would like to work at and internships that would help a resume look better. If a plan is created in the first year, the student will not look back and say, "I should have done that."

The school is too bureaucratic and does not focus on students’ needs. The school is too expensive, and the education you receive is not worth the price you pay. In some instances, I have learned more in my jobs than in the classroom. In high school, I was challenged by my professors, there was a point to the lectures, and I felt I was learning something. That is not as true here.
