The education was good, but Georgetown's ability to find you a job was not outstanding. Particularly, academic advisers need to more clearly stress what jobs you will be able to get depending on which major(s) you choose, and how much money/opportunity that will provide you with. If you are not a finance/accounting major (or double-major) you were at a great disadvantage in the on-campus recruiting process.

It is easy to obtain a double major here. This is a huge benefit because it allows students to obtain a background in two functional areas and develop multiple competencies before entering the workforce.

Georgetown students are for the most part well rounded and not just smart. Georgetown educates the entire person. Most Georgetown students have good leadership skills, are exposed to a diverse student body, are taught to look at things from an international perspective, and are aware of the Jesuit ethical emphasis that has been presented to them and how it can be applied to the business setting.

One advantage is that you take business core classes your first semester of college. This not only gives you a strong foundation that is then built upon for the remainder of your education, but also helps you to really explore the different areas of business so you have a better understanding of what you would enjoy concentrating your studies in.

Our career center is constantly offering workshops on resume/cover letter writing and interview techniques. The firms that recruit on campus are at the top of their industries. Many people go into investment banking right away, a smaller portion into consulting. Even though the business school is seen as the goof-off undergrad school at Georgetown, we will be your bosses later.

The professors are more interested in teaching rather than research, which is extremely beneficial for undergraduate students, who do not really gain any benefit from professor research.
