 STUDENT COMMENTS

The school is shifting too many business classes online. The loss of interaction with the teacher dilutes the quality of the education and skills needed to compete.

The school does a poor job with personal attention to students. Advising needs much improvement. Large classes are distracting. Most students do not take their education seriously and are more concerned with just getting by or making the grade. Critical thinking isn't encouraged because most classes are technical and lack creativity.

FIU takes notice of the importance of being situated in Miami and takes good care to bring the Miami culture on campus. It can be seen in the diversity of the student body. FIU provides and promotes diversity among its students and that also carries into the classroom, making the learning experience much more interesting.

Teachers understand that the better part of the student body are commuter students, so they strive to engage students in classes, especially in longer classes that can run up to three hours.

The classes were helpful, but FIU lacks in the area of teaching students how to build and foster contacts outside of the institution. I also think that the business program has been improving consistently and will become stronger in the near future. However, vast and rapid improvement is needed. My institution should make students more aware of the extreme competitiveness out in the job market, especially when coming from Miami.
