The time that we had access to our professors, both in terms of quality and quantity, was invaluable in enabling us to pursue our educations to our intellectual zeniths. Nearly all had extensive real-world working experience and were able to offer practical insights into the business world. Many of our professors took the initiative to work closely with us on group projects as well as individual ones.

Ethics education is intertwined among the business core, imbuing many of us with a deep sense of social and business responsibility. I really appreciate the encouragement we receive from professors to not only pursue our professional goals, but to improve as people. Many times during class our discussion will turn from academic to personal, and we learn important lessons and principles that are just as important, if not more so, than the academic solution.

The accounting program at BYU offers not only incredible academic and technological resources, but also a close environment with the profession. By the time I graduate I will have known exactly what I'll be doing in the professional world. The program connects students to people in all levels of the profession.

The Marriott School is great about preparing us for careers. We are required to take both an orientation and mentoring class our first semester in the program. These classes teach us about resume writing, interviewing, internships, and networking. We are paired one-on-one with an alum from the Marriott School.

Teachers are paid to teach, but students are told to teach themselves. We are almost never taught the material we get quizzed on until after the quiz is over; therefore, the grades do not accurately reflect the students' comprehension.

The classes were often just the right size because they were not so small that you did not have a pool of peers to learn from and work with and not so large that you did not have one-on-one interaction with the professor.
