The strengths were dynamic teaching style, engaged, interested to get the curricula going, mostly experienced in their field. Weaknesses: only about 50% of faculty was with class throughout the whole program.
The diversity of participants makes this program an unique learning experience across cultures, languages and industry practices.
Quality, content and structure of the program were outstanding and provided me with a lot of learning and new insights. Furthermore, it is a very international program that exposed me to people with very different backgrounds (cultural, professional, personal, etc).
IMD offers real learning environment with multi-cultural class and faculty and a feel at home environment due to the manageable size of the school.
The program structure (modules) and content (foundations, team assignment and company assignment) were optimal. Furthermore the size of the class was not too big (64 students) and it was possible to learn a lot from the peers. The class was very international oriented with a mix from different countries and professions.
IMD is a great place to learn and the Managers of the program are very good at securing our full involvement throughout the year. I particularly recommend IMD for its "learning how to learn approach" which is not only a motto but an attitude.
IMD is leading edge in relation to leadership training and development. It is frankly head and shoulders above other programs that I have come in contact with. Finance and Economics is a strong point - but probably not the best in Europe. Where it is less cutting edge is in the area of Marketing, Business Ethics. These are important and I found myself relying on my classmates for this sort of debate and discussion.
Impossible to improve. I chose IMD (above UK schools, and INSEAD) for their responsiveness at every step of the way. Their responsiveness during the application process was flawless.
I do believe the classroom experience was very good. There was a right balance between presentation, analysis and discussion of cases; frameworks and theory presentation; small groups short assignments in between the whole class auditorium activities. At the same time some energizing and challenging activities spread across the studies helped to raised the levels of stamina, excitement and connection with the whole EMBA experience.
Instructors could know better the students and their strength and weaknesses. More guidance in the team work process.
I think IMD is the best international focused program & I like the way of teaching & practical approach very much.
It is also a relatively small school whit a very keen interest of faculty in the students.
Discovery trips were a highlight in the program and, besides Ireland, Bucharest, China and Silicon Valley, one could also go to India.
With 60 participants, the program size is just right. The peer group was an excellent mix of managers from a diverse background. The professors and the material was excellent as well. The field trips were good. I would probably choose IMD again. However, I might look at other programs and compare.
