-Group work in every class really prepares you how things work in the real world. Majority of the classes are interactive, really allowing you to learn instead of just memorizing material for exams and quizzes.
-I believe there should be required classes concerning searching for jobs and the proper way to look. I propose they have members of the career center teach the class effectively and structure it like any other class.
-EEE 457 capstone course requires us to use all the knowledge gained throughout the 4 years spent at the college. It requires knowledge of operations, accounting, finance, and marketing as well as using teamwork to accomplish the task of writing a full-length business plan for a unique idea.
-We have a phenomenal alumni network, which is good at placing Syracuse students into positions in companies. The program is also especially good at making sure its students' interpersonal skills provide them a significant competitive advantage.
-A bigger emphasis on technical/analytical knowledge would strengthen the program, not significantly, though it would help.
-We have our own business oriented career office in which they focus on getting BUSINESS companies for us - absolutely amazing.
-Too focused on US economics; I just wish that we could have more global business courses and an international view rather than very US focused.
-Every class requirement needed to complete a degree is relevant and considerably contributes to making the student knowledgeable and prepared for entering the job market as a well-qualified and worthy candidate. This business school does a remarkable job providing preparatory services through its Career Services center and undergraduate advising office to prepare students in every way necessary for a competitive job market.
-More business classes, less extra curriculars. Zeus and Athena aren't going to help me complete financial statements. On that note, there were some classes I did not enjoy taking at Syracuse (marketing and supply chain). It would have been nice to completely avoid those and take something more useful for my field (accounting, finance).
-Great supply chain program. Great professors who not only have real-world experience, but are also great communicators and know how to teach the material on hand. Very willing to work with students outside of the class, and Whitman is ALL ABOUT getting students a job. They provide many extra curricular activities to get involved and many opportunities to enhance interview skills, resumes, and qualities to make you a better candidate.
-Improved undergraduate study spaces. Often times many graduate team rooms are available but remain locked while undergraduate study space is very difficult to come by especially around midterms and finals
-The facility is magnificent. The classrooms and classroom culture is what make the program unique. The ending EEE requirement class captivates every management aspect in one class in which teams are created to bring to market a product or service. Every step is used to create an efficient Business Plan and real presentations in front of potential investors is the last leg of the class. The lectures don't exceed more than 40 students usually which also provides a better learning experience. Also, not only are our classes taught by professors, some outside experts in their field come to teach which brings real life experience and knowledge to the material.
-Get better recruitment opportunities for students. There are currently no investment banks or consulting firms that recruit at Syracuse's business school.
-The focus on Teamwork I believe is the most unique aspect of our program when comparing it to many of my friends at other Colleges. Almost every class in Whitman we have group projects. This taught us to work with different diverse situations and people.
-Many of the upper level classes are very, very rigorous which impacts students’ performance in other classes. Often take multiple upper level classes at the same time.
-Lots of opportunities to meet with employers!! It would be hard not to find a job, if you are a Whitman grad at Syracuse University. Lots of team activities to help prepare you for real life situations when you work in teams. Taught useful concepts that can be used in a career.
