      • -The effort by the career center is awesome. I'm not saying I took advantage of all the things they have provided for students but it is definitely there and I am made aware of it continuously. I have a lot of friends in other schools who don't quite have the career resources we do and I can see a huge difference in their confidence for starting a worthwhile career after college.

-There are a lot of classes in the curriculum that are just absolutely worthless, or should be optional at the very least. I really got the sense, in a lot of my classes, that the school forced me into these classes that gave me absolutely NO skills to squeeze some more money out of me. I feel like these classes wore me out in my first few years to the point where I'm now too exhausted to put in the effort in my actual major-relevant classes.

-The university is growing rapidly. The business school has had the ability to grow and develop with that. From the time i started to now that I’m finished, complacency has never plagued the school at all.

-I think smaller classrooms would be better. I have had several classes with 300+ students in them, and it can make it more challenging to learn or pay attention in class when you have that many students in 1 classroom.

-The student population is very diverse at UH. I have friends from Asia, India, and Africa, as well as many other places in the world. I believe getting to know these people and their cultures will definitely help me if I ever have to work, or work with people over seas.

-The program could be more selective on the T.A's that they hire. The T.A's do not teach the classes but they are sometimes involved in grading and preparing assignments. I have come across many unprofessional and illiterate T.A's who's major or background of study is completely unrelated to the subject matter of that course.

-We are in the city with jobs. Having a business school in Houston is great for the students because it gives you a chance to connect with companies while still attending school. Many students work with major companies during the school year, which is not available to students attending schools in smaller cities. Also, our school has a unique focus on the oil industry available which has remained one of the stronger markets through the economic downturn. Our supply chain program is also very close-knit, lead through our strong APICS student organization and Dr. Victor Wayhan. This provides many opportunities for networking and support as a student finishes his/her degree.

-If would be great if one of our senior year classes were an actual internship with a premiere company (whether in the Houston area or abroad). This was the case when I graduated from Houston Community College with my associates degree in computer science. The school provide each senior with a paid internship.

-What makes my school's business program unique is that it is not a program, but rather several independent programs focused on giving students the training to graduate and become successful professionals.

-While the international business classes seem like a good idea, more often than not they cover pretty much the same information as required core classes do.

-The Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston does an outstanding job connecting students with recruiters from a diverse range of companies and organizations. The college also works diligently to make sure students are well prepared for career fairs and interviews.

-Some classes could use other teaching techniques besides required course books, such as real world case studies and so on.

-The program gets students in touch with recruiters of accounting firms. We were able to get up close and personal with them and I have even become friends with the recruiters. Also, the business school teaches us effective interviewing techniques, resume writing seminars, and professors give a great deal of insight on what life after graduation in accounting is like.
