-Our school has amazing teachers with real world experience that makes classes more then just informational. They are dedicated to making you into a professional and are proud to send you out as a BG graduate!
-The services the business school provides along with the opportunities to meet and learn from business professionals are frequent and well organized and advertised.
-Business professors go above and beyond to make sure that students understand business concepts. They also implement many real life scenarios that can help when understanding course material.
-As a freshman, I’d maybe have liked more advice and guidance. I feel I met with advisors more as an upper classman than a lower classman.
-I feel like the professors are up to speed with the real world. Most of them spent an good portion of their careers in the industry sector, giving them real-life experience. Each of the professors then take their experience and integrate it with the class material to help the students see how what we learn is used in the real world.
-The major thing that could be changed throughout the business program is the ability of some teachers to keep students engaged. They should sit done and review the performance of teachers’ ability to teach and not just the amount of articles that are published. I think this is a problem with teachers in other universities too.
-The Business program has a strong emphasis on marketing each student’s own personal "brand." They really help students network by setting up job fairs in both the fall and spring semesters. The bigger of the two, the fall job fair, has over 150 employers on a regular basis.
-The College of Business needs to update its Marketing Department. It is very behind the times with the marketing techniques they teach, almost to the point of hurting future marketing students.
-I believe we have a great "close knit" community feel at BGSU; the professors care. The dean takes time out of his day to sit down and buy the students pizza and ask how he can improve our educational experience, and then actually makes our suggestions happen.
-The business program is very involved with its students. There are case competitions that students go to, professional development meetings, plant tours, and student outings. It is a nice way to get to network with your classmates and professionals.
-Some of the factually especially outside the accounting/finance group are not nearly as strong of teachers. Especially some of the foreign teachers. If you cannot communicate effective your message you should not be allowed to teach, even if you know what your talking about you need to be able to get me to understand what you are talking about.
-My school has "The hub" on the second floor of the business building. It is a lounge for students to come and spend time between classes. Most classes are on the first floor, and professors have offices on the second and third. Students and professors are always passing through this lounge and it presents a great way to socialize, and much interaction is always happening between students, and with professors.
