-The staff and support at UW Bothell is tremendous. The availability of networking within the community and amount of faculty involvement was exceptional. The professors were very well versed in real world applications instead of simply academia.
-The school seeks out professors that fit into the culture of the program, not just those that have great credentials. As such, the professors are engaged with the program, interested in knowing each student, and dedicated to delivering a high quality product. As there was some attrition, being in a program with fewer than 40 students provided unprecedented access to and attention from faculty greatly augmenting my educational experience, not to mention a deep level of interaction among my cohort. I feel this would be highly valuable to any student seeking an MBA. What's in the book is only worth so much. The real value in the program are the professors and the participants. UW Bothell works very hard to ensure the right people are put together to deliver a high quality outcome.
-Grading needs to be significantly improved (as it was mostly random). Faculty quality needs to be monitored more closely.
-The program at UW-Bothell gave me everything I was looking for in an MBA program: knowledge, the skill and discipline to further explore areas of my interest post-MBA, practical applications in my industry of choice, excellent and approachable instructors with real-world work experience.
-I would suggest reducing the workload to better align with working professionals.
-The quality of the education I received was amazing. I would encourage anyone who has the ability to get into the program and who wants to excel in his or her career to go for it.
-Some courses and the contents to be taught in those courses were not fully aligned with the course description. Instructors need to be aware of the course descriptions and strive to teach in accord with what should be useful to MBAs.
-High quality program with very engaged faculty and well balanced curriculums between case studies and project work.
-Our cohort was the first to develop an intensive two-week international study tour to West Africa (Ghana) - It was very successful. I hope that in the future this tradition will be kept up and cohorts will have the opportunity to develop international study tours providing that type of hands on global exposure.
-The program offered a lot when it came to networking and connections. The education portion needed to cover a vast amount of skill levels coming in (having a nurse in the program who's never done marketing to marketing executives) and thus for people with significant industry experience in an area, the readings and such were the main source of challenge. The class came to understand this because some of us were novice while others were expert.
-Need to seriously review the curriculum and ditch the complacent non-producers, AKA tenured staff. Also, try to get some people with experience. It is difficult to take someone seriously when they have never actually worked outside of a university.
-Although the program was intense and required a lot of personal sacrifice the knowledge and lifelong friendships gained during the program far outweigh the sacrifice.
-It would be great if there was a stronger connection with the Seattle campus business program. This would not be necessary, but would probably help both programs save on costs as they would not be duplicating efforts.
-The program creates a close-knit group of students who are passionate about learning and enthusiastic about becoming part of something great. Every student was ambitious, outgoing, and fun to work with. I would highly recommend this program to anyone seeking to obtain an MBA.
