-I would recommend the Katz MBA to friends or colleagues due to the many things I got beyond the classroom education including networking and learning the importance of interdependence and teamwork. Many of the professors have industry experience or were previous executives. Everyone was helpful and truly cared about making it a positive experience.
-Katz Graduate School of Business offers a value that I perceive to be higher than other institutions in the region. Though there are certainly other programs in the city, the culture of Katz, the extensive network within the region and nationally, and the quality of education led me to pursue a degree at a world-class part-time MBA program.
-The core classes were good, professionally taught, and outside my normal realm as I am in a technical role. I learned from them. The electives were mostly not enjoyable to me, nor did I learn much from them that was valuable to my career. The exception to that would be the kind of soft skill classes, such as interpersonal skills.
-The coursework was challenging yet not overwhelming. Networking was at a prime at this location.
-I felt that the networking events and speakers were often held at times that made it difficult for part time students to attend, also it seemed as though career services placed more emphasis on the full time students, these are the only things that I think the program could improve upon.
-It is a well-defined program that gives you the core strengths necessary and the ability to relate those strengths back to practical uses in the workplace. Further, the networking within the program is extremely valuable, as you meet other professionals who are from the area that work in the same or similar profession.
-Less group work for part-time students. If you are attending a part-time program, you are probably working with people every day at your full-time job. While group work is beneficial to help manage working with others, as a part-time student this can make things very difficult because everyone has such limited time.
-The experience was wonderful. The school did a great job incorporating part-time students and making us feel part of the university. The school also offered many opportunities such as global research and study abroad, which I participated in twice.
-The classrooms need to be updated to accommodate the students better. Also, career services should be revamped for better access, more pleasant personnel, and easier processes.
-The professors are extremely knowledgeable and the administrative staff is incredibly helpful.
-Beyond the technical knowledge that I gained through the MBA program, I felt that I developed a great deal professionally while I was there. I felt that the culture of the part-time program was much more mature and focused on learning and contributing than the full-time program (I spent one semester as a full-time MBA student and then switched to part-time). The part-time program offered much better networking opportunities, as well, since essentially everyone there was working in the area.
