Founded in 1926, the business college at the University of Arkansas became the Sam M. Walton College of Business in 1998. Thanks, in part, to a $50 million gift from the Walton Foundation, Walton College is recognized internationally as a premier business school. With departments of accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, marketing and supply chain management the College offers MBA programs, specialty masters degrees, as well as seven Ph.D. programs. AACSB International accredited the college in 1931 and renewed the accreditation in 2012.

Technology Improvements
  • The Walton College has replaced a total of 364 physical computers with a combination of Zero Clients and virtual desktops. This should result in an estimated $36,000 per year savings in electricity costs. Zero Clients now support all research in the Behavioral Business Research Lab. New storage was required to support this virtualization initiative. A new Disaster Recovery (DR) site at the UAMS Data Center in Little Rock. Backups are continually replicated to this site.
