-The University of Tennessee at Knoxville is uniquely positioned to provide a well-rounded business school experience by tying all the primary areas of industry into one, simple program. From finance, to logistics, it is easy to see how each business unit affects the other and how, as a manger, you can make a difference.
-I'd like to see tougher admission standards that raise the bar for students with little or no work experience, and international students that simply cannot get over the language barrier enough to contribute in class or team settings.
-The UT program is structured into an 18-month schedule instead of the normal 2 years. This made every class interesting and important because there were less of them. The workload was still that of a normal MBA program, just condensed. The also, the focus on Supply Chain and Marketing was by design. The faculty at UT is very strong in these areas so the class work and projects always had a spin in that direction.
-The program needs more diversity in students and more focus on International Business.
-It is an accelerated 18-month program that puts graduating students in a great position for recruiting. Less competition in the job market with a December graduation. The professors are experienced and bring a ton of cutting edge knowledge into the classroom.
-The one thing that might improve the strength of the program would be to provide access to more technology and innovation centers. With the proximity of Oak Ridge National Labs, it would be a great pairing for the program to do more on the technology front with them.
-The small number of students as well as the 16-month duration make the program unique. Additionally, the faculty and staff are genuinely interested in your success and at all times, you feel the program has your best interest at heart.
-I believe that UT could do a better job of placing graduates. I know that the job market is not perfect, and I don’t really have a benchmark to measure this variable against, I just feel that a more involved recruiting process could add a lot of value to both the students as well as the MBA programs report.
-The University of Tennessee's MBA program offers a reduced time away from the workforce and a very affordable program cost (even for out of state students). These benefits combined with the program's moderately high rankings, create an outstanding value compared to many other MBA programs.
