The College of Business (COB) is one of the largest business programs in the Midwest region. The College includes four departments (Computer Information Systems, Finance and General Business, Management and Marketing) and the School of Accountancy in the business unit, as well as two separately-accredited departments (Fashion and Interior Design and Construction and Technology Management) that are outside of that unit. The business unit prepares over 4000 undergraduate and 600 graduate students for a wide spectrum of business and related careers. The College, along with the School of Accountancy, holds the prestigious full accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This accreditation and large numbers of high quality graduates attracts employers from throughout the Midwest to recruit annually for part-time (internships and co-operative education) and full-time positions. With over 100 firms participating in the College's three Career Days and coming to Glass Hall for on-campus interviews COB students have excellent career opportunities. Despite being one of the largest business programs in the Midwest, COB offers individual attention via the College's 118 faculty, Business Advisement Center, and specialized Career Center. This large, diverse and highly qualified faculty, many of whom have won teaching and research awards and have practical business experience, allows COB to offer a wide variety of majors, along with specialized options and courses while still keeping classes small. From orientation through the final degree check students are guided by one of the College's dedicated academic advisors. And when the time comes to find an internship, cooperative education opportunity or full-time position the College's Career Center staff is ready to assist. With over 11 distinct Bachelor of Science degrees within the business unit (AACSB Accredited offerings include Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology Service Management, Finance, General Business, Risk Management and Insurance, Entertainment Management, Entrepreneurship, Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Marketing) and so many specialized options it's easy to see why so many students that are serious about starting careers in business and related areas turn to COB. There are 6 additional Bachelor of Science degrees offered outside the business unit which include Fashion Merchandising and Design, Interior Design, Family and Consumer Sciences (The Department's Family and Consumer Science B.D. Ed. programs are accredited by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)), Construction Management, Facility Management, and Technology Management (The Department's Construction Management program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE)). For working professionals COB's five graduate programs - Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Accountancy (MAcc), Master of Science in Computer Information Systems (MS CIS), Master of Science in Project Management, and Master of Health Administration provide an opportunity to gain the foundation in one's field or change career paths.
