-The culture and character of the community makes my program unique. The ecosystem of clubs and activities outside the classroom provide a wealth of experience not available at other peer schools that limit participation and extracurricular growth. Having instituted the team-based learning approach first and continuing with the quarter system, Kellogg has given me a network and diversity of teamwork like no other school could have provided.
-A better balance of toughness and niceness. I think Kellogg students can sometimes sacrifice driving to a decisive, clear answer for playing nice with each other.
-Incredibly, ridiculously nice people. Somehow strikes the perfect balance between being ambitious and being caring. A really special group of people. Also, Kellogg is highly student-driven. You can really have an impact on your experience, your peers, and the school in 2 years.
-There's overwhelming demand for the best courses and professors; I think we could improve the course bidding system. I also think there could be more resources for entrepreneurship.
-Kellogg is unique for some reasons. First, the students are high caliber professionals with great collaborative spirit. You are constantly challenged in a constructive way. Second, Kellogg is the only top five MBA schools that has more than 200 active employers. This gives the school an advantage in terms of options for students. Third, the school spirit of working in teams is aligned with what is necessary in the real business world.
-Kellogg needs updated facilities commensurate with its role as a top b-school and center of global thought leadership.
-Kellogg excels at producing leaders who can guide organizations through multi-faceted challenges. This is unique amongst MBA programs, because so many programs are focused on analytical rigor as the output of their programs.
-The program is strong but the reputation is heavily weighted towards marketing. For example, I feel the finance area is really strong but might be overshadowed by marketing.
-Kellogg is unique in its aim to develop general managers that understand all aspects of business. In finance, while we learn to make spreadsheet models just like others, the focus is on strategic decisions one would make as a CFO or a PE/VC investor. Similarly in marketing we learn to mine databases, run regressions etc. but the emphasis is on choices a senior-level manager would make. Finally, concepts covered in finance get touched on in marketing, and operations and vice versa.
-The program can further encourage student participation in entrepreneurial activities and involvement in the local start-up community. There are some efforts towards this and I hope to see it payoff soon.
-I liked the fact that Kellogg has a great general management program and that the program is not 100% case based. I worked the majority of my career as an engineer, and even though I have some PE experience, I lacked profound business principal knowledge and understandings. I loved the fact the Kellogg's academic program provides well rounded, profound business education.
-The overall quality of professors could be higher...while there are absolutely a large amount of rockstar professors, there are also those who are not up to snuff. New facilities, which are coming in 2015/2016.
-The culture of Kellogg stands out among top MBA programs. I was very concerned with culture fit when selecting programs, and I have no regrets about choosing Kellogg. In addition, Kellogg leads in the academic areas that I was most interested in, marketing and management.
-International offerings could be enhanced; more should be mandatory pieces of the curriculum. Integration across disciplines would be beneficial, possibly culminating in a capstone work in the second year.
-Kellogg teaches you to reach deep inside yourself and do some "discovery" during the business school process. For me, that meant learning subjects that I had little experience in (Finance, Marketing). For many others it means leading teams and learning to manage processes. Kellogg teaches you how to work in a team with diverse and highly talented individuals and how to achieve great results through collaboration.
