Students are very ambitious and driven to get where they want to be upon graduation. While we are competitive, we also look to assist each other in whichever manner we can. The school's brand and network are very strong throughout the US and globally.
I think the program could be improved by upgrading the facilities, and requiring students to actively participate in more case competitions and also encourage more networking outside the Howard University program. Lastly I think the programs should strongly consider moving to a module system like many neighboring programs. The old structure of class schedules sometimes hurts students who don't take Mgmt. accounting or marketing prior to their first summer internship. The module systems would split the semester into two segments allowing students to have exposure to more relevant subjects prior to their internships.
One of the greatest aspects about the Howard University MBA programs is the alumni network. At the time of my research I uncovered that Howard MBA has graduated the second more African American MBA's than any other university. Business school is very much about relationships, and Howard MBA does a great job of that.
Current administration either needs to be completely removed or bring in more results-oriented leaders who are more focused on student success rather than maintaining status quo.
It is a very strong program offered by a Historically Black University. Howard University is often the only historically black university at which many companies recruit.
The MBA program needs a larger staff that focuses solely on MBA candidates. Also, school should redesign curriculum to add more variety and relevant electives.
The Center for Excellence in Supply Chain Management at Howard University has a very committed Advisory Board that is committed to the success of its students. Also the opportunities to have classes that involves travel abroad helps the school to stand apart from others.
The school stresses a lot on Business Law course. And we really don't have an effective and efficient Business Law mechanism. Also the coursework is very subjective. I guess compared to other schools this particular course has been really difficult. They expect us to understand real life cases related to contracts and torts. When I guess we don't go to school to become lawyers. We attend school to understand business aspect of it. And school needs to improve on it.
The program has a real team environment that mirrors the type of work structure that you will encounter once you get out into the working world. It's a very small program so you do get to know your professors and the program is instrumental in placing its students in front of top companies and networking events.
