The community of students and faculty at the George Washington University makes my program unique. My class is comprised of 128 students with varying backgrounds and each person is passionate about something. Most students are ethically driven and wish to make a difference in the world where profit is not the priority.
The curriculum is fairly young. The administration should continue to build its brand and recruit passionate and diverse students and faculty. Focus on the strengths of international business, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, which make GWSB unique, while improving weaker areas such as finance and strategy.
If you are looking to work for a government agency or do government consulting work GWU is a great place given its location and alumni connections in these fields. The school is also very focused on anything and everything green/sustainable, so if that's your thing you should consider the school.
Increase the class size - Though we already recruit impressive employers to campus, if we have a larger class size, more would come recruit here. At a full-time class size of 120, GW is stretched a bit thin.
The small class size allows you to know everyone in the program. It is also unique in that it focuses a lot on international business with a emphasis on sustainability and ethics.
To improve the program, the administration needs to force a number of tenured professors out and hire more young talent. The program office needs to get organized, and the career office needs to draw more employers to campus.
The environment and culture created by the students is extremely supportive. The students are competitive to improve the level of the program without being overly competitive or aggressive with each other and in the classroom.
This program needs to tighten admissions requirements. Yes, I understand there is a strong desire for diversity and different backgrounds, but that doesn't mean accepting as many wide backgrounds as possible. There need to be some standards. Additionally, the school needs to improve the quality of teachers and faculty and insure more consistency across teaching within departments and across cohorts.
For such a small program, I am amazed at the variety of quality international studies and abroad programs that are offered. Simply fantastic.
We need to increase full-time enrollment. With only 250 total full-timers, there is a huge opportunity to expand here.
